Mr Betal explained everything about my breast cancer very clearly . He answered all the questions I had before I needed to ask them . He was very approachable and reassuring as I can become very anxious in hospitals and the cancer diagnosis was very unexpected . He checked if the person accompanying me on the day of the surgery had any questions . I felt very well informed and valued as a person not just another patient . I trusted him and felt in safe hands. Along with the rest of the team , he probably saved my life.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I thought that was the end of my world. When I was told a mastectomy was needed on my left breast, I thought I would be horribly disfigured. Mr Betal was kind, reassuring and compassionate. He never hurried me and made me feel I mattered to him. He performed the mastectomy with immediate reconstruction and I was amazed at the result. I have just undergone a lippomodelling procedure and I am genuinely delighted with the result, looks totally natural even with swimsuits and bikini, so skilfully done. More important, I am cancer free and my prospects look more promising than I dared to hope when my journey started. I am so pleased that I was lucky enough to get Mr Betal as my consultant.

I cannot fault the care given by Mr Betal during my recent breast cancer treatment. He gave clear explanations at all times and never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. At a very worrying time he was reassuring, straightforward and kind. I could not have had better care from him and all the team at Worthing Hospital.
